The famous resort of Magalluf boasts a clean beach and great conditions and facilities for water sports. On the east of the island the small village of Banyalbufer has some quiet peaceful coves.
The major tourist resorts are Palma Nova and Magalluf. Palma Nova was created specifically out of the local landscape for tourists – it boasts numerous hotels and high rise apartment blocks, and a great deal of facilities that cater for tourists.
It also has great beaches and a good nightlife, and its location near Palma means it is well centred for day trips.
Magalluf is a much larger resort and attracts a large number of north European tourists. It has 3 beautiful beaches and is popular for young people on hen and stag parties, as well as young families. It is famous for its nightlife and range of bars and restaurants. There are also a lot of facilities and activities on the island catering to families, including water parks and adventure facilities, crazy golf and play parks.
Many tourists like to hire a car and head to the wonderful interior of the island which boasts some interesting landscape as well as picturesque villages. This part of the island is largely untouched by tourist and maintains a traditional atmosphere.
