TURNING OBSTACLES INTO OPPORTUNITIES

GOD WANTS TO POSITION YOU FOR A BLESSING

Ruth 1: 19-20 “Don’t call me Naomi” she told them. “Call me Mara, because The Almighty has made my life bitter. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The Lord has afflicted me the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me”.

Ephesians 3: 20-21 Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more that all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us. To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever Amen.

Have you ever felt that God has forgotten you or that the hand of God was against you? I know that I have. You not only feel God has forgotten you but He is working along with other forces against you. We must reconsider that if God is love and love worketh no evil then whatever is occurring in some way is strategically designed to work in our favor. The key however to all of this rest in us and not God. We must have enough hope-faith to realize that the plan of God is at work in and through us. This is difficult and in our human efforts impossible, however when we factor our faith in God into the equation we can do the impossible.

Case in point is Naomi. She of her own volition along with her family left her place of covenant in Bethlehem and went to the land of Moab. There was a famine in the land of Judah and instead of staying in the covenant place she and her family left to go to a land that was not the place of blessing. Point one is stay where God has placed you to be blessed, even though that place may be hard. If God has placed you there He will sustain you there. When you move from the umbrella of His covering of safety you leave yourself open to the results of your actions. Moab was a land of pagan worshipers of the god Ashtar-Chemosh. The Moabites were people that God had cursed because of their hostility towards the Israelites when they were attempting to enter the land of Canaan. Why go live with the enemy. Often we will take up with the enemy if it meets our needs instead of waiting for God to move in our situation. This move literally proved to be deadly, Naomi’s husband and sons died in the land of Moab and she was left destitute alone with two Moabitess daughter-in-laws. One of the daughter-in-laws Orpah went back to live with her people. The other Ruth has been transformed by the power of Naomi’s God with faith and went with Naomi back to Bethlehem to live with Naomi’s people. As the story goes Ruth the Moabitess married the kins-men redeemer Boaz and became the great-grandmother of King David, ultimately landing in the lineage of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Point two is Naomi had lost her faith in God because of her circumstances but even when we mess-up God’s GPS tracking system can turn our curse into a blessing. The faith of Ruth became contagious and eventually re-ignited Naomi so much so that as a result of the birth of Ruth’s child Obed her status in Bethlehem changed. The women of the city began to praise her calling Ruth her daughter-in-law better than seven sons. It doesn’t get any better than that understanding the status of women during this period. Naomi was no longer bitter after being restored by the hand of a loving God. God in his infinite mercy And grace restored Naomi so much so that he opened up her withered body the symbol of His power to restore and allowed her to nurse Obed her grandson. How can this be an old, old women who did not give birth is able to provide milk to nurse a child. Faith produces the miraculous when we put our faith in God. Do you need to be restored? Let our God do the miraculous!

Point three Naomi learned that her story did not end with the death of her husband and sons as she had supposed. In fact it was just the beginning for God had another plan for her life. Through the faith of Ruth a women who under ordinary circumstances would never be blessed by God she was restored. When you have faith the satellite of God’s GPS beams down and makes a connection to position you for a blessing. God’s GPS is 24/7 looking for someone to bless who has enough faith to believe. He has not forgotten you in fact he has you right where He wants you. And when the situation looks it worse He’ll show up to demonstrate His love, mercy and favor to restore you beyond your wildest imagination. God is in control of our situations.

Let’s walk in faith for as Paul says He can do more than we can ask or think according to the power that is at work in us. And that power is our faith in Him. Activate that power and position yourself for a miraculous blessing.

I’m excited how about how God in working in our lives, how about you!
