Bohol is one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Visayas part of the Philippines.   It is rich in historical attractions, as well as land and water adventure sites.  To get there, one has to take an hour flight from Manila to Cebu, then riding a ferry boat from Cebu to Tagbilaran.  There are also available flights straight from Manila to Tagbilaran.

In just 3 to 5 days, you can enjoy all the destination sites of Bohol.  Of course, you should not miss the world wonder site of Chocolate Hills and the world’s smallest monkey, the Tarsier.  A lunch at Loboc River is very satisfying, not just because of the very affordable and delicious buffet, but also the entertainment the people by the Loboc River provides to the guests during the boat ride, such as ethnic and modern dance numbers!  Other land destinations that you can visit there are the Manmade Forest, caves (there are lots of caves in different towns of Bohol), historical monuments such as the Blood Compact, and old churches.  If your fun involves water adventure, Bohol has numerous beaches and waterfalls.  Water activities can be also done there such as whale and dolphin watching, scuba diving, and sailing.

Since Bohol is a very famous Philippine destination, there are great number of hotels there that you can choose from.  Most hotels have their own tour services so you won’t need to hassle yourself to get to places where you want to visit.  And of course, before you leave Bohol, make sure you have bought something for your family and friends. Aside from the usual T-shirts and keychain souvenirs, take home some Peanut Kisses, Tablea (cacao balls used for hot chocolate drinks) and calamay (ground sticky rice with coconut milk placed a coconut shell).

Most important of all, don’t forget to take pictures around the good tour sites to always remember your fantastic stay in the province of Bohol.  And believe me, you would be coming back for more visits…because, hey, I do
